Doris E. Warford, 89, of Kingstown Rd., Wakefield, died Thursday at South County Hospital, Wakefield. She was the wife of the late John Q. Warford. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Almer) Weatherburn. Mrs. Warford served in the US Navy Waves during WW II. She worked as a press clipper for Burrell’s in Livingston, NJ for fifteen years before retiring. She lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to RI in 2006 and enjoyed crocheting, swimming, bird watching and her grandchildren. She leaves three children; John Warford of El Dorado Hills, CA, Richard Warford of Wakefield, and Nancy DeLorenzo of Pompton Lakes, NJ; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was the sister of the late Robert Weatherburn. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lakewood, 313 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701-3222.
