Donna J. Thomas

Donna J. Thomas, 64, of Charlestown passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Leigh High Valley Hospital, Hazelton, PA while traveling the last 30 days with her loving husband of forty three years, Walter E. Thomas III. Born in Sullivan, IN, she enjoyed traveling and going back to her home town of Terre Haute, IN. She was the daughter of the late Ledford P. and Mary M. (Chubb) Slaven. Donna was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era, where she met her husband, serving from 1967 to 1970. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, spending time with family and friends and was a member of the Warwick Elks Lodge. Besides her husband she leaves her loving children, Tiffany L. Skinner-DeSouza and her husband Gregory and late husband Joseph Skinner and grandchildren, Monica Jean Skinner, Brian Tyler Skinner, Savannah Rose Skinner and Jewelia Ann DeSouza; Walter E. Thomas IV and his wife Jacqueline and grandson, Walter E. Thomas V; Shawn Paul Thomas and his wife Amber and grandchildren, Emmit Joseph Thomas, Noah David Thomas and Elias Edward Thomas; brothers, David Wade Slaven and Paul Timothy Slaven and sister of the late Peggy Ann Slaven. The funeral will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m.in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
