Donna Salter

June 26, 1950 — July 2, 2022

Donna Lynne (Blair) Salter, 72 of Narragansett, passed away on Saturday, July 2nd, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Barbara (Belden) Tully and Donald Blair. Step-daughter of the late Roy T. Tully. Donna was the loving wife of her high school sweetheart, George Salter, for 52 beautiful years. Donna was strong minded, adventurous, intelligent, and kind. She lived life to its fullest everyday, leaving behind stories that will be told for generations. She graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in 1968 where she met the love of her life and best friend, George. Donna attended The University of Rhode Island, worked as a nursing assistant at Kent Hospital, and later became a meeting planner/conference coordinator for the American Mathematical Society, where she was employed for 34 years. She and George married in 1970 before welcoming their two children Ryan and Catherine. She was a woman who wanted to experience everything life has to offer, from scuba diving, becoming a PADI rescue diver, completing 650 dives throughout the Caribbean, Honduras, Mexico, Palau, Hawaii and the Philippines. Her adventures included sky diving, hang gliding, hot air ballooning, and zip lining. She also loved traveling the globe with George, visiting places like Brazil, England, Ireland, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and Russia. Besides her husband, Donna leaves behind her two children; Ryan Salter of Providence and Catherine Raymond of East Greenwich, grandchildren; Connor and Cameron Raymond, siblings; Robert Blair of Northborough, Richard Blair of North Kingstown, and Jayne Lindo of East Greenwich. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 8th from 1-3 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
