Donna Jean Bertolet

May 28, 1940 — March 13, 2022

Donna J. (Glass) Bertolet, 81, passed away at Brookdale South Bay in Wakefield, RI on March 13, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Violet Glass. Donna was born on May 28, 1940 and grew up in East Freedom, Pennsylvania. She was the valedictorian of her Claysburg-Kimmel High School graduating a class, a fact she loved to remind her family about. Donna then attended and graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing in Reading, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Donna raised her three children as the family moved from the Philadelphia area to Pittsburgh to Ponce, Puerto Rico before Donna eventually settled in Reading. With her children grown, she re-entered the workforce, working for the PMA Company, and later CNA where she had a successful career in Case Management. Donna loved all things Pennsylvania, whether it was bargain shopping at the outlets or cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering for the Breast Cancer Society and made frequent trips to visit her daughters in Colorado and Connecticut. She loved talking about the Alaska cruises she took with friends. Donna will be missed by her family: daughter Dianne Bertolet-Duff, her husband Tom and their children Derek, Emma, Connor, Gavin and Braeden of Wakefield, RI; and daughter Wendy Bertolet-LaPointe, her husband Jason and children Camron and Caden of Carbondale, CO. She is predeceased by her son, Frederick Charles. The family would like to thank the Skilled Nursing team at Brookdale South Bay and Continuum Hospice for their support and care over the past months. No services are planned at this time, a private burial with the family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the Alzheimer's Association.
