Donald A. Pellegrino, Sr., 74, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Stock) Pellegrino for 48 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Angelo and Frances (Malpino) Pellegrino. Mr. Pellegrino was a distributor for Pepperidge Farms and Thomas’s English Muffins from 1966- 1989. In 1989 he sold the Pepperidge Farms franchise and continued distributing for Thomas’s until retiring last year. A tradition that his son carries on. He enjoyed playing golf and was a passionate and devoted NY Giants Football fan. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran serving honorably with the United States Marines. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Donald Pellegrino, Jr. of Wakefield; a daughter Tracy Pellegrino of Kingston; two grandchildren, Sydney Pellegrino and Thomas Pellegrino, both of Wakefield; three sisters, Ann Dupuis of Lincoln, Margaret (Richard) Hennessey of Smithfield, and Mary Jane (Raymond) Recore of Millville, MA; and a brother, Peter (Paula) Pellegrino of Cranston; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday, 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
