Donald W. Nuri

Donald Nuri, 77, passed away suddenly at his home in Peacedale, RI on October 30th.

Born in Pawtucket, RI to Martha (Dino) and Duro Nuri. Don grew up in Central Falls surrounded by his siblings, Geri, Duro and Ali, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He graduated from Central Falls High School, Rhode Island College and received his Master’s from Plymouth College. Don served in the Air Force, based in Germany and then lived in Mount Washington Valley, NH for 25+ years. He worked at Carroll County Mental Health as well as many different businesses around the valley. He loved playing tennis at Cranmore Health Club, Alpine and Nordic skiing. In Rhode Island, he continued to participate in and share his love of tennis, pickleball and music, playing the guitar and ukulele at the Pump House and with various groups.

He leaves behind two loved daughters, Sarah and her husband Chuck in Sandpoint, Idaho and Emily, the bright spot in his days, his granddaughter Samira of Pawtucket, RI, his brothers, Duro Nuri in Barcelona, Spain and Ali Nuri, his sister - in – law, Karen in Cranston, RI, along with his aunt and many close cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Geri Cordeiro.

A service will be held at the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 on Thursday, November 9th at 1:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, we would love to help continue sharing Don's love of tennis and music with kids by donating to South Kingstown Parks & Rec Department at the Peace Dale Neighborhood Guild. Selecting scholarships for the Knapp Music School, tennis or pickleball programs.
