Donald C. Grinnell

Donald C. Grinnell, 78, of Whitford Street, Wakefield, died Friday at South County Hospital. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Charles G. and Pearl (Van Orden) Grinnell. Donald worked as a receiver at Kenyon Piece Dye Works for forty-five years before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar and spending time with his family. He was the father of Clifford C. Grinnell of Coventry, David A. Grinnell of West Warwick, Helen-Mary Elizabeth DelSanto of Wakefield and Sherri Lee Grinnell Moorehead of Charlestown; grandfather of eleven; great grandfather of six; great great grandfather of three; brother of Mary Redden of NE, the late Dorothy Northup, Charles Grinnell, Pearl Tillinghast and Helen Taylor. He was the step father of the late Donald E. Winsor. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours Monday 6-8 PM.
