Donald F. “Ted” Cady, 83, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Ted was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He had a rewarding career at Amica Life Insurance Company for many years before retiring. He was the loving husband of 59 years to the late Joyce A. Cady. Ted was the son of the late, Ernest J. and Mary (Phillips) Cady. He was the loving father of John A. Laurendeau from Bar Harbor ME., Deborah J. Cady from Bar Harbor ME., and the late Donna L. Rosenfeld. He was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother of Dennis Cady of Naples FL, Richard Cady of Coventry RI and Carleton Angell of Warwick and the late Ernest J. Cady Jr., Kathleen A. Thibeault, Leonard J. Cady, Sr. and Karen A. Cady. He also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Ted was very proud of his achievements in life and was eager to share his wisdom with whoever would listen. He was a true Patriot at heart. He adored his family and will be sorely missed by those left behind. Ted was an incredible man of faith who had a strong bond with the Lord. His faith was evident with the fact that he maintained an active role in Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church for more than 40 years. He was a lifelong hobbyist. Whether it be tinkering around with his car Frieda, painting pictures, wood working and yearly cruises to different countries with his life-long companion. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, on Friday from 10am -11am, followed by private service. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donald “Ted” Cady to: Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Avenue, Cranston, RI 02921.
