Dennis J. Rockwell, Sr.

Dennis J. Rockwell, Sr., 58, formerly of Wakefield, died Monday. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Basil and Dorothy (Gagner) Rockwell. Mr. Rockwell was a Chef who had worked at Camden’s Restaurant, the Islander Restaurant in Jamestown, and for the past 10 years, at the Seaview Market in Matunuck. Prior to becoming a Chef, he had been employed at Peace Dale Processing. He was and avid New York Sports fan, especially the Yankees and Giants, and he enjoyed golfing. Mr. Rockwell had served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Town of South Kingstown. He is survived by two children, Dennis J. Rockwell, Jr. and Brittney Rockwell, both of Wakefield; three brothers, Wayne Rockwell of Wakefield, Bruce Rockwell of Kansas and Basil Rockwell of Phoenix, AZ; and a granddaughter, Courtney Ventura of Wakefield. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday 12 – 3 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3 PM. Burial will be private.
