Dennis Raymond Bougie

Dennis R. Bougie, 70, of Westerly, passed away Tuesday, May 3. He was born in Nashua, NH to his parents Raymond and Rita (Buzzell) Bougie. Dennis was the loving husband of Veli Tan. Dennis was above all else a kind person and beautiful soul. He loved everyone, especially his family and was constantly looking to help people in need. A man of culture and world traveler he spoke fluent French and treasured visiting France. He was an educated man, holding an M.B.A from Boston University. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, he skied, kayaked, and hiked much of the Appalachian trail with his children. He had a green thumb and was an avid gardener, growing flowers and vegetables with equal skill and passion. Dennis loved food and wine and was an excellent self-taught cook who passed this love on to his children. Dennis was the best of what humanity has to offer and will be missed by all who knew him more than he could ever know. Besides his husband Veli Tan, Dennis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Erik and Amanda Bougie, grandchildren Flynn and Gemma Bougie, daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Bougie and Eric Trzaskos, granddaughter Juniper Trzaskos, former spouse Laurie Bougie, and sister Sandra Thompson and nieces. Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 6th in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI 02879 beginning at 11am with a service at 12pm. Burial will follow at St. Frances Cemetery located on George Schaefer St., Wakefield, RI. There will be a gathering after the burial at Camden’s 756 Kingstown Rd. Wakefield, RI.
