Deborah “Debbie” Marie Coelho (Love), 66, of Wakefield, Rhode Island passed away unexpectedly April 7th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on February 27, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Janet Love (Ryan). Debbie was the devoted wife of James Coelho for 10 years.
Debbie devoted 36 years of employment at Kay Dee Designs, where some of the designs she printed could be found on the other side of the country. Later on in her retirement years, she took up a seasonal job at Sweenor’s Chocolates, in which she enjoyed working there and reminded her of the chocolate conveyor belt in I Love Lucy.
She found joy in listening to music, whether it was The Beatles or anything Blues. She loved her beer and espresso martinis. She found happiness and peace being by the water, whether it was poolside or ocean side, where the rhythm of the waves matched the warmth and light she brought to those around her. She cherished every adventure she shared with her best friend Peggy.
Debbie’s laugh was a radiant, joyous melody— utterly infectious and impossible to forget, leaving smiles in every room she entered. It bubbled up from her soul with an ease that made even the darkest days feel lighter, drawing people in and reminding everyone around her of the simple, beautiful joy of being alive.
Debbie is survived by her husband James Coelho; her daughter, Sheryl Perra of Hope Valley; siblings, Melody Sepe (Tom) of Florida; Kenneth Love of Massachusetts; Wade Love (Lori) of Wood River Junction; grandchildren, Hannah Ducote and Dominic Perra who she loved and cherished deeply, along with several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved four legged friend, Maggie, whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to her everyday life.
May her laughter forever echo in the wind.
There will be a graveside service April 19th, 2025 at 10:00 am at St Joseph’s Cemetery, 959 Nooseneck Hill Rd, West Greenwich, RI. Immediately following the service, there will be a gathering to honor Debbie at Alaina’s Ale House, 343 Kingstown Road, Richmond, RI.
