Deborah Ann Calamita, 57 of Kingston, passed away Thursday. She was the beloved wife of James Calamita. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of Rita (LeClair) Southland of Florida and Henry Northup of Connecticut. Mrs. Calamita was a CNA for several local nursing homes, most recently the South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She will be remembered as a caring and nurturing person and had a great affection for animals. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by three children Shannon Boucher of Georgia, Josh Downey of Warwick, and Ben Downey of Burrillville; two great grandchildren, Bryce and Gavin; and five siblings, Alan Southland, Cindy Northup, Chrissy Northup, Kenny Northup, and Henry Northup. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday in Christ the King Church, Kingston. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Priests Retirement Fund, c/o Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI 02881.
