David Allen Witham

David Allen “Dave” Witham of North Kingstown, RI passed away on December 25, 2020 after a battle with cancer. He was 45 years old. Dave is survived by his beloved wife Lori (Cosman) Witham and daughter Harper Adelia; his mother Johanna “Yoka” Witham of Wakefield, RI; sister Melinda Witham of Charlestown, RI; sister Kimberly Witham and brother-in-law Walter Trarbach of Glen Gardner, NJ; mother and father-in-law Kathy and Larry Cosman of Newburgh, NY; sister and brother-in-law Amanda Higgs and Ed Higgs of Newburgh, NY; nephews and niece Chapin Witham-Stevens, Sage Witham-Stevens, Oliver Higgs and Royal Trarbach. He is predeceased by his father David C. Witham. Dave was a 1993 graduate of South Kingstown High School. He attended Rhode Island College and would have graduated with an English degree had he only taken one more math class. Dave had a lifelong passion for music. He performed and recorded albums with several bands and was able to play many instruments. He taught music lessons for several years and is fondly remembered by his former students. In 2014, Dave followed another passion and opened Proclamation Ale Company. Originally in a small space in West Kingston, the brewery is now located in Warwick and is a popular destination for beer lovers from far and wide. Dave will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his big smile and his big hugs. He will be sorely missed. Dave was very proud of Harper’s budding talent in music.
