David Joseph Tyrrell, Jr.

David J. Tyrrell, Jr., 84, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017. He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Dufault) Tyrrell for 57 years. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late David J. Tyrrell, Sr. and Dorothy (Carney) Tyrrell. Mr. Tyrrell was employed by New England Telephone Co. for many years before retiring and was a Korean War Marine Veteran. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Kathleen Harper and her husband Glenn of Rehoboth, MA, David Tyrrell and his wife Hope of Wakefield, Michael Tyrrell and his wife Jennifer of NH and Stephen Tyrrell and his wife Tracey of West Kingston and six grandchildren, Elyse Harper Greaves, Kyle Harper, Megan, Erin, Samantha and Kade Tyrrell. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 9 am from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in St. Romauld Chapel, Atlantic Ave., Matunuck. Burial with military honors will follow in R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday 5-7 pm.
