David T. Pierson, Jr.

November 13, 1935 — February 25, 2018

David T. Pierson, 82, of North Kingstown, and formerly of Wakefield, passed away Sunday. He was the companion of Barbara Pierson. He was predeceased by his first wife Patricia (Davis) Pierson and his second wife Janice (Mayes) Pierson. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late David T., Sr., and Margery (Smith) Pierson. Mr. Pierson was currently employed for South County Sand & Gravel. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox. Besides his companion, he is survived by four children, David Pierson, III of Cranston Randall Pierson of Narragansett, Dawn Pierson of Pompano Beach, FL, and Sheila Yehle of Warwick; two grandchildren, Kristen Pierson of Warwick and Victoria Pierson of North Providence; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Whaley of Wakefield, Branda Key of Florida, Janice Hannaford; and a brother, Steve Pierson of Peace Dale. He was the brother of the late Neil Pierson, Joseph Pierson, Kenneth Pierson, Gail Duncan, Marcia Harvey, and Linda Coble. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial donation may be made to the South Kingstown Dog Pound, 132 Asa Pond Road, Wakefield, RI 02879.
