David E. Miner, 81, passed away on August 12, 2020 at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. David was born in Utica, NY. He served 30 years in the US Navy, including service in the Vietnam War. In July of 1972 he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for Heroic Achievement. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a machinist at Electric Boat for 21 years. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wakefield, RI. He was a dedicated gardener, an active member of the Rhode Island Dahlia Society, and an avid bass fisherman. David is survived by his wife, Marcia and his five children: Kathleen Frongillo, Karen Weaver, David Miner, Jr., Kimberly Miner, and Tracy Connelly. He is also survived by his two step-children, Maureen Grady and Kathleen Byington, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He shall be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. A memorial service for immediate family and close friends will be held at a later date.
