David Mchale Sr.

David R. McHale, Sr. left this life to go dance with his Lord, Jesus, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

David, fondly known as "Dave", was born to the late Bernard and Helene I (Tougas) McHale, on September 13, 1940 in Central Falls, RI.

Upon graduating CF High School, Dave joined the US Navy. Throughout his lifetime, Dave eventually joined all branches of the armed forces, but it was the US Navy that held a special place in his heart.

When Dave was honorably discharged from the Navy, he then attended the University of Rhode Island where he majored in food management. He would go on to briefly own his own restaurant, Dave's Pizza, on West Shore Rd. in Warwick, RI.

In 1974 he began his career at Quonset Point, General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he worked as a pipe fitter for over 33 years.

Dave met the love of his life, Marian R. Luba, in 1965, while he was attending URI. Dave pursed her relentlessly, until she finally agreed to be his bride in December 1969. Together, they were blessed with 3 beautiful children, David R. Jr., Marian Roseanne, and Cynthia Denise.

In his spare time, Dave loved gardening, playing poker, listening to live jazz music, and riding his motorcycle. On any given Sunday, you could find him at a home game for the RI Rams men's be basketball team.

Dave was preceded to heaven by his parents, his brother, Bernard F. McHale, Jr., brothers Michael P. and Kenneth R. McHale, and his oldest grandson, Kyle R. Saunders.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marian R. McHale, his sister, Karen E. (McHale) Amaral of Powhatan, VA, his children, grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and a nephew.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11th, 2024 from 10-12 a.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated immediately following at 12:30 p.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St.,Wakefield, RI. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life.
