David G. Godden

David G. Godden, 70, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Glenn and Mildred (Link) Godden. David was a real estate broker for 40 plus years. Throughout his career he received recognition for his dedication to his work: RIAR State Realtor of the Year 1998, president of Statewide MLS 2001, past president of RIAR 2004, recipient of the NAR Omega Tau Rho Award 2004, and chair of the NAR Professional Standards Forum 2007. Aside from his work David had a passion for sailing. When not on the water or spending time with his family, he spent his time involved in local community as a past member of the Weekapaug Foundation, a past member of the board of Trustees of the Westerly Center for the Arts and the past president of the Charlestown Historical Society. He is survived by his son Jens-Bjorn C. Godden and his wife Janel of Richmond; two grandchildren, Trent and Trinity; a brother, Mark Godden of Scottsdale, AZ and many close extended family members. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017, from 4-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be private.
