David C. Enes, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the South County Hospital. David was born in Paterson, N.J. and raised primarily in Westfield N.J. by Jean M. Enes and pre-deceased Ralph C. Enes. He had two siblings Robert and pre-deceased Linda Kasselman. David attended the Westfield N.J. schools and graduated from the Millburn Preparatory School in 1968. He was active in the Presbyterian Youth Group and Boy Scout Troop 72. David graduated from Roger Williams University in 1972 with a degree in Sociology. David loved his dogs, enjoyed boating, motorcycles, skiing, his vintage Buick Reatta cars and watching old westerns. While living in Hope Valley he married his first wife Janet Johnson. At the time he worked for Allied Van Lines Special Products as an owner operator. He then progressed to operate his own trucking business delivering flat bed loads of sod, roofing shingles, building materials and bulk propane. In 1998 while delivering propane David suffered an industrial accident leading to the loss of his left arm. Davids courage throughout this tragedy is a testament to his strong character, will and bravery. Subsequent to this David married Laurie Malloy and raised two children who survive him Kristen Rose and Sean Carlton. He resided in West Kingston until the time of his death. David devoted his time and energy to his beloved children. Together they enjoyed boating, horseback riding, trips to the library, parks, museums and swimming. He saw to the childrens education and spiritual upbringing. David was an active member of the Wakefield Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. David will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM December 15th at the Wakefield Baptist Church, Wakefield RI. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wakefield Baptist Church or the American Heart Association
