David C. Curran, 61, of Narragansett, peacefully passed away at South County Hospital. Born in Providence David was the oldest son of Richard E. Curran of Narragansett and the late Joan Curran (4/15/2006). He graduated from Cranston East in 1972 and from URI in 1976. Dave recently retired from the Charlestown Post Office after working there for over 25 years. Dave was the Liturgy Assistant at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for over thirty years. Dave was known for his strong faith, distinctive voice and infectious smile. Dave fought his battle over pancreatic cancer for over three years. He fought like a "poet warrior" utilizing his faith in God, amazing grace, resilience, and his family. Dave lived at the beach, grew a bountiful garden and beautiful flowers. Dave is survived by his father Richard; siblings John, Richard, Mel, and Edward. Dave was predeceased by his Mom and brother Bob. He will be missed by many friends from the Church and Post Office. His funeral will be held Monday April 4, 2016 at 9:00 am from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home 88 Columbia Street Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Narragansett. Burial will follow at St Francis Cemetery Peace Dale. Visiting hours are Sunday, 4-7 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to St Mary Star of the Sea, 864 Pt.
