David Briggs

David Briggs, 66, of Green Hill, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2012. By his side until the very end were his best friend, Cheryl, proud son, Michael, cherished daughter, Michelle and loving daughter in law, Tammy. His five grandchildren, Danielle, Alex, Gailyn, Brendan and Kylie Mae were the light of his life and his faithful dog Rusty watched over him to the end. David was born on November 28, 1945 to the late John Sr. and Nellie (Dow) Briggs. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Air Force, and later went on to become an active member in the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 325. David also leaves behind his brothers, John Jr. and Doug and his sisters, Barbara and Sarah and also many loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beautiful sister, Priscilla. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. In memory of David please make donations to an organization that was near and dear to his heart, Vietnam Veterans of America or Odyssey Hospice of RI.
