David A. Bates

David A. Bates, 73, of Peace Dale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. At the time of his passing, he was resting comfortably at home surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband for 48 years of Jane (Davis) Bates. David will be remembered for his selfless demeanor, an incredible sense of humor, and loving appreciation for family and friends. He had an infectious smile and clever wit that he freely shared with both strangers and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Stephen D. Bates of Beaufort, SC and Douglas W. Bates and his wife Jennifer (Zamperini) of Wakefield; grandchildren Logan, Hailey, Hunter, Ryan, Brendan, and Gabrielle and a beautiful extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be an opportunity for all to celebrate the life of David with his family and friends on Sunday, July 10 from 12 Noon to 3 pm at Laurel Lane Golf Course, West Kingston.
