Daniel F. Shea

Daniel F. Shea, 85, of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday. He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Cline) Shea. Born in Fall River, MA he was a son of the late Daniel and Cecilia (Driscoll) Shea. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1953. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was born with a pair of “Golden Hands” and had amazing carpentry skills. He was an avid reader and in his spare time he enjoyed art and opera music. He is survived by five children, Timothy C. Shea of Burke, VA, Donna J. Buckley of Wakefield, Daniel M. Shea of Wakefield, Julie A Ladd of Wakefield, and Jeffry Shea of North Kingstown; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours will be held in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday 4-6 pm.
