Daniel R. Danny Benn

Daniel Richard Benn, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17th. Danny, as he was known, was the son of the late Diana (Boulay) and Harry A. Benn Sr. and the brother of the late Patricia Benn and Jacqueline Clement. Mr. Benn was the owner of DRI Plumbing and Cooling Services in Arizona. Many have known Danny as the passionate and compassionate mechanic who would fix your automobile for a bag of marshmallows because that is all you could afford. Sharing his mechanical skills to the willing and unwilling, he thrived on teaching his mechanical abilities to his kids, their friends, and any of his vocational students he educated at Chariho High School. He had an appreciation for the beautiful mountains of Arizona, but his first love was the ocean where he worked as a Captain on the charter fishing vessel the Seven B’s, built with his father and brothers and now owned by his esteemed older brother, Capt. Russell Benn. He enjoyed passing on his knowledge of fishing to his children, grandchildren and to the tourists who were on a mission to “catch that big one”. Entertaining, whether it was joking around, singing, dancing or just playing Lucky 7’s at the casino, Danny always had a way of making you laugh. His life is most remembered by the family he is survived by, including his four children, Stephanie Page, Sheryl Peno, Sara Benn, all of Narragansett and Joshua Benn of Casa Grande, AZ; six grandchildren, Joey and Anthony Page, Veronica, Alex, and Jacob Webb, and Marshall Benn; two brothers, Harry Benn Jr. of North Kingstown and Capt. Russell Benn of Narragansett; and two sisters, Joyce Benn of Hope Valley and Lorna Huntley of West Virginia. He was blessed and fortunate to be the husband of two amazing women, Donna Lee Peterson of Narragansett and Renee Louzon-Benn of Casa Grande, Arizona. Visiting hours will be held in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday December 22nd from 4-7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held privately in the spring. For
