Cynthia Michelle Sampson

Cynthia Michelle Sampson, 59, of 62 Potowomut Road, Warwick, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. She was the wife of Grace Sumney. Born in Harlem, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sampson, Jr. and Barbara (Cook) Sampson. Cynthia was an American Indian. Cynthia worked at the University of Rhode Island as a custodian for over 10 years, then at the Ladd School, and finally worked in the community helping in group homes. Besides her wife she is survived by her siblings, Karen Sampson, Dreaner Cook, Harry Sampson, III, Alan Sampson, Paula Whitford, Mark Sampson, James Whitford, Philip Thomas, Albert Whitford, Sharthini Kirby, Sha-Karl Kirby, and Sonnie Kirby, her paternal uncles Bradford Sampson, Wayne Sampson, and Bruce Sampson; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 2-5pm with a funeral service following at 5pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
