Cynthia Louise Desmarais

Cynthia L. Desmarais, 63, born and raised in South Kingstown she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 9, 2020. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, John “JD” Desmarais. She was the daughter of the late George and Beverly (Hopkins) Standeven. Mrs. Desmarais retired from the State of Rhode Island after working there for over 30 years. In her spare time, she loved being with her family, especially playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her nieces and nephews. In her younger years she enjoyed going to Bruins games and enjoyed crocheting until she couldn’t any longer. She is survived by her children, John C. Desmarais and Katie J. Desmarais; her six grandchildren, Gavin Casey, Damian, Jayson, Camryn, Lincoln, and Natalie; her siblings, Kenneth Standeven, Brenda Fleet and her husband Marshall, Doug Standeven and his wife Sue, Judy Gould her husband Clay, and Tammy Standeven; as well as her cat Bob and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Randy and Larry Standeven, and Lisa Buckman. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 2-4pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Cynthia’s family would like to thank the staff at HopeHealth Hospice for their care and kindness.
