Cynthia “Cynt” Champlin, 63, of 129 Boon Street, Narragansett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at South County Hospital. Born in South Kingstown, RI on February 24, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Milfred Sr. and Pearl B. (Reels) Champlin. Ms. Champlin was a Telephone Operator for New England Telephone, a former Hairdresser, and a former caseworker for the Rhode Island Indian Council, as well as the Narragansett Indian Tribe. She was proud of her heritage, as she was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Cynthia is survived by her son; Shehan Champlin, her beloved granddaughter Liliana Marie Fillion-Champlin and her Favorite bird “Buddy”. In addition, she leaves behind 4 brothers, Eugene, Douglas, Craig and Gary Champlin and 7 sisters, Barbara Sekator, Shirley Christy, Gloria Fry, Virginia Perry, Sheila Champlin-Levy, Donna Maddox, Gail Champlin and her God-daughter, Kimberly Wilson-Johnson. She was the sister of the late Milford Champlin. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday March 22, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
