Clifford E. Thresher, Jr., 83, of Wakefield, died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Smith) Thresher, they were married 57 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Clifford E., Sr. and Phebe (Bray) Thresher. Mr. Thresher taught drafting at Chariho High School for 27 years, retiring in 1988. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, reading, and he was an amateur radio operator. He was a lifelong summer resident of Prudence Island and was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John C. Thresher of Wakefield; and a brother Henry A. Thresher of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Hayes. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at the Church of the Ascension, Wakefield. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
