Claire M. Jacob, 99, of South Kingstown, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, September 9th surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kisvarda, Hungary to her parents the late Alex and Lanka (Rubovsky) Jacob.
Claire was a graduate of URI, where she earned her Master’s in education. She spent many years as an educator before retiring to her New Hampshire home where she loved to host family gatherings, enjoyed cutting wood and the outdoors. She will always be remembered as a woman who loved to travel, even to the coldest of places including Alaska three times, Antarctica, and the North Pole. Claire also loved to play tennis, golf, snow mobile and ski.
She is survived by her niece; Patricia McGrath (Michael), nephews; Ken Malenfant (Holly) and Michael Malenfant, great-niece; Amy Palmer (Todd), great-nephews; Tucker Malenfant, Christopher and Timothy McGrath, Alec and Dylan Malenfant, as well as many great-great-nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sisters; Catherine Jacob, Martha Malenfant, niece; Linda Palmer and nephew; Jeffery Malenfant.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14th at 10 am in Christ the King Church 180 North Road, Kingston. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer St, Peacedale.
