Claire M. George

Claire M. George, 90, of South Kingstown, formerly of Centerville, MA, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was the wife of the late James H. George. Born in West Roxbury, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Paul and Mary Canty. Mrs. George worked for the Town of Scituate, MA school system for thirty years before retiring. She was a WW II US Marine veteran. She was the mother of James R. George of NC, Janice M. St. John of Narragansett, Daniel P. George of GA and Jay P. George of MA; sister of George Canty and Joan Bravo both of FL. She also leaves seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Care of RI.
