Cindy Marie D'Arcy

August 18, 1960 — February 15, 2023

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Cindy Marie D’Arcy, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 62.

All people die, but Cindy truly lived! In her short time in this world, Cindy brought so much life into everything that she did.

Cindy was born on August 18th, 1960, in the borough of Queens, New York, to the late Robert and Janice (Burk) Blount. Growing up in Flushing, New York with her sister, Bonnie, and brother Fred, Cindy’s favorite childhood memories were getting ice cream from the local Mister Softee truck and their summer trips to Matunuck, Rhode Island, where her grandparents kept a beach house and her father enjoyed his summers.

After attending Bayside High School, Cindy launched an impressively successful sales career, culminating in her role as branch office manager of Coldwell Realty Residential Brokerage properties.

Throughout her life, Cindy lived at many different addresses and had a gift for turning every one of those houses into a home that served as the center of special occasions, holiday celebrations, and gatherings of friends and family. Her favorite place of all was by the sea at Roy Carpenter’s Beach, Rhode Island where she summered each year with a close-knit circle of dear and special friends. Cindy loved watching her grandchildren create memories of their own at that same beach.

Cindy was an avid shopper and her talent for home décor was legendary among friends and family, surpassed only by her party-planning prowess. Cindy’s entertaining ability and infectious laugh made her the consummate hostess.

Cindy is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, Malachy, her daughter Dawn (Michael Salony) and son Craig Jeffries (Jenny), and her three grandchildren, Ryan, Hunter, and Isla, who were the center of her universe. Cindy was a happy dog-mom to her beloved Mia and predeceased by her four-legged bestie, Tia.

She also leaves behind her siblings Bonnie (Augie), and Fred, (Patty), as well as her nieces and nephews, who’ve dubbed her “The Coolest Aunt.”

Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of Cindy’s life, on Monday, February 20th at 11:30am at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, February 19th from 1:00 - 4:00pm. Cindy’s company was an avid supporter of United Hospice of Rockland.
