Christine Farr Tina Mascaro

Christine Farr Mascaro, always known as Tina, passed away at her home in Charlestown, Rhode Island on March 17, 2018. Tina, the daughter of Charlotte Rathbone Farr and Gilmore Lloyd Farr, was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. Tina grew up in Monson and Brookfield Massachusetts. Tina attended the Mary Burnham School in Northampton, Massachusetts, Miramar High School in Newport, Rhode Island, Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont, the University of Colorado and the Katherine Gibbs School in Providence, Rhode Island. Tina leaves her husband of 47 years, Leonard G. Mascaro, her daughter Kiersten Mascaro, her son Leonard J. Mascaro. She is also survived by two brothers, Leonard S. Farr, his wife, Cathy Farr, and Lloyd Farr. Tina was predeceased by her parents, her brother Andrew R. Farr and his wife Marcia M. Farr. Tina also leaves her sister-in-law, Suzanne Mascaro, brother-in-law Alan Mascaro and his wife Elizabeth, many nieces, nephews, relatives and countless friends. After working in the travel industry and at Dan Wesson Arms in Monson, Mass, Tina moved briefly to Shelburne, Vermont and then settled in Charlestown, Rhode Island where she lived for the past 26 years. Tina worked at the Charlestown Town Offices and for the Volunteer Rescue Squad before her retirement in 2017. A true friend to all, thoughtful, generous and kind, Tina loved life and enjoyed her family, her home, and life. Tina was an accomplished water skier, swimmer, sailor, and skier. She loved the beach and a good book. Tina was an excellent cook, and an accomplished hostess, and she enjoyed entertaining her relatives and friends. Not only an avid reader, Tina also was a movie fan. Tina loved animals and had a special fondness for her dogs, Lola and Annie. Tina faced all challenges with an admirable attitude, courage, and valiant humor. Tina was an inspiration to her family and friends and she will be dearly missed. A celebration of her life is being planned for April. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation.
