Charles Henry Young, Jr.

Charles Henry Young Jr. of Narraganset, Rl, passed away at Kent County Hospital at the age 76 on September 22, 2019. He was the son of the late Evelyn Young and Charles Young Sr. of West Kingston, Rl. Charles is survived by longtime partner of 22 years Victoria Hazard of Narragansett, Rl, wife Patricia A. Young of Peace Dale, Rl and ex wife Barbara Ann Young of North Kingstown, Rl. He is survived by his brother Richard W. Smith and wife Teresa Smith of Peace Dale, Rl, sister Marie L. King of West Kingston, Rl, the late Elizabeth A. Johnson of West Kingston, Rl, the late Francis Perry of South Kingstown, Rl, and the late Mary E. Straiten of Exeter, Rl. He also leaves behind his children, Cecelia Marie Randall of Newport, Rl, Barbara Lynn Young of Providence, Rl, Charlene Young of North Kingstown, Rl, Sandra Young of North Kingstown, Rl, Bruce E. Williams of Peace Dale, Rl, Crystal Kenner of Providence, Rl, Evelyn Staggers of High Point, North Carolina, Tammy Scott of Shady Side, Maryland, stepson Lawrence Robinson of Peace Dale, Rl, stepdaughter Stephanie Grant of Williston, stepson Dwayne Hazard of Providence, Rl, and stepdaughter Sarah Hazard of Newport, Rl. Charles leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousin. Charles served many years in the military and was a Veteran of Vietnam War. He was a truck driver and turf farmer for many years. He was a member of The Narragansett Indian Tribe. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He loved to talk to all and give advice to anyone in need. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and spend time going to NASCAR. He did not know a stranger. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 10am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
