Charles L Whipple

Charles Littlefield Whipple, 89, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born at South County Hospital to the late Charles L. Whipple Sr. and Anne (Clark) Holland.

Charlie worked at Wakefield Mill and the University of Rhode Island. His most proud accomplishment is visiting 49 states - but never by car. As a dedicated member of Wakefield Baptist, Charlie served for many years as deacon and treasurer. He was an avid bowler, a daily hall walker at Indian Run Village and he loved to play cribbage with his friends Clare and Peter.

He is survived by numerous cousins including Corey Johnson, her husband Steve and their girls, Roxy and Ruby. He also leaves his dear friend Peter Vetter of Jamestown, his “driver” Whitney Bancroft, and many friends from Indian Run, CVS and Dr. Barratt’s office.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 10 am in Wakefield Baptist Church, 236 Main Street, Wakefield, 02879. Burial will follow at Oak Dell Cemetery, Oak Dell Street in Peace Dale.
