Charles J. “Charlie” Toth, Jr., 86, a longtime resident of Narragansett, and more recently of Wakefield, passed away at the VA Hospital in Providence, on Thursday December 22, 2011. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles J., Sr. and Margaret (McAssey) Toth. Mr. Toth was a proud US Military member and served in the Navy during WW II and the Air Force, during the Korean War. He was a member of the Local 251 Teamsters Union, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 290, the American Association of Retired Persons, a life member of the South Kingstown Elks Lodge 1899, the American Legion Post 12 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. He is survived by two brothers, James Toth and Robert Toth, both of California. A committal service with military honors will be at 10 AM Tuesday at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DAV Dept. of RI, 380 Westminster Street, 2nd Floor, Providence, RI 02903.
