Charles J. Stickley, Jr.

Charles J. Stickley, Jr., 88, of Wakefield, passed away Monday. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Forsythe) Stickley for 62 years. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Charles J., Sr. and Ethel (Seymour) Stickley. Mr. Stickley was employed at the Wakefield Branch for over forty five years, retiring in 1989. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a longtime member of the South Kingstown Lions Club, and he was a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Susan Wilcox and her husband Gary of Hope Valley and Barbara Somers and her husband Donald of Wakefield; a grandson, Steven Wilcox and his wife Theresa of Westport, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Molly Wilcox and Zachary Wilcox. He was the father of the late Stephen Stickley and brother of the late Frances Barry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting Hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Thursday, 4 -7 pm.
