Charles L. Hargraves, 80, of Narragansett, died Friday, June 24, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Taylor) Hargraves. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (Pollock) Hargraves. Mr. Hargraves was an auto-mechanic for Westlake’s Garage in Narragansett and also worked for the Wakefield Branch Gas Plant, and the Town of Narragansett Recreation Dept. He was a volunteer fireman for the Town of Narragansett and was an original member of the Parks Commission in Narragansett. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, fishing and golfing. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Helen & Charles Donaldson of Ft. Myers, FL; two grandchildren, Patrick Charles Donaldson and Hayley Elizabeth Ray Donaldson; and a sister, Rita Berger of California. He was the brother of the late Stuart Hargraves, and step-brother of the late Fred Babcock and Frank Babcock. Funeral and burial will be private in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
