Charles “Jack” Hamilton, Jr., 85, was called home after a brief illness, to our Heavenly Father Sunday November 6th, in Brandon, FL, surrounded by his wife of 60 years Marilyn T. (McNulty) Hamilton and his four daughters. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Charles J., Sr. and Edith E. (Babcock) Hamilton. Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Theresa Jorsz of Groton, CT, Beth-Ann Asplund of Riverview, FL, Cynthia Allen of Coventry, and Kathryn Fernandez of Wakefield; eleven grandchildren, Jocelyn Gaulin, Bridget Asplund, Heather Davis, Sierra Asplund, Charles John Hamilton Allen, Zachary Allen, Kendra Allen, Haley Allen, Amaya Fernandez, Kristian Fernandez, and Rily-Erynn Fernandez; and four great-grandchildren, Brody, Caleb, Emery, and Leo. Jack had many accomplishments throughout his years. He collected friends wherever he went and took great pride in each and every relationship. Everyone knew he was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, win or lose. While a resident of South Kingstown, he served as a police officer and volunteer firefighter, was a member of the South Kingstown Police Reserves, the South Kingstown Elks Lodge, the VFW, the Emerald Society, and the American Legion. He also was elected to the South Kingstown Town Council, acted as the Town Sargent, and enjoyed his position as Chief Investigator for the State of Rhode Island Family Court. Jack served proudly in the Unites States Air Force, where he was stationed in Okinawa during the Korean War. He also owned Jack’s Cheese and Deli. He chose to become a Catholic in his teenage years and proudly belonged to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a participant in many fund raising activities. Jack lived with his wife Marilyn in St. Petersburgh, FL during the winter months, where he enjoyed sharing many good times at the Elks and The Blue Parrot. In the summer, he resided with his daughter Katheryn and her family in Wakefield. He loved to drive by the sea daily. He and his wife Marilyn were members of the Green Hill Beach Club and loved participating in the many activities offered there. Seeing Jack come through the door with one of his many hats sporting different emblems, smiling, and embracing his collection of wonderful friends, will be an adjustment for all. Truly one of a kind, may he Rest Peacefully. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 19th at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday 4-7 pm.
