Charles Patrick Donnelly

Charles Donnelly, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday in his Green Hill home with family. Husband of Elaine (Rogers) Donnelly; father of Karen Donnelly, Brenda Mitchell and husband David, and Patrick Donnelly; brother of William Donnelly; devoted grandfather of Kara, Sean and Kyle Mitchell; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Native of Warwick, graduate of Aldrich High School, Charlie was the 9th of 10 children born to the late Henry T and Abbie (Dunn) Donnelly and brother of the late Abbie Webster, Rose Arundale, Jane Anderson, Theresa Hawkins, Henry Donnelly, John Donnelly, Edward Donnelly and Joseph Donnelly. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force and was a long time sales representative for U.S. Tobacco. Charlie was a socially active member of Green Hill Beach Club and South County Health Cardio Rehab. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 am from Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. James Chapel, Charlestown.. Burial with military honors will be at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South County Health Cardio Rehab, 100 Kenyon Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879, in Charlie’s memory.
