Celtina Taylor

Celtina Taylor, 97, a life-long South Kingstown resident, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Stanley E. Taylor. Born in Keene, New Hampshire, she was a daughter of the late David and Celtina (Smith) Whitaker. Mrs. Taylor was a sales clerk at the former Kenyon’s Department Store in Wakefield for over 32 years. She is survived by a daughter, Sadie E. Bennett and her husband Bruce of Charlestown; a granddaughter, Melanie Connelly and her companion Jonathon VanHees of Charlestown; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Connelly and Jackson VanHees. She was the sister of the late Frances Matthews, Eva Boisvert, and Sadie Carr. A funeral service will be held at 9 am Thursday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Southern RI, 506 Curtis Corner Road, Peace Dale, RI 02879.
