Catherine Phyllis Mulcahy Parrow

May 26, 1925 — April 27, 2009

Catherine “Phyllis” (Mulcahy) Parrow, 83, of Wakefield, RI and formerly of Holden, MA, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Richard Parrow. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Katherine (Hickey) Mulcahy and she grew up in Shrewsbury, eventually settling in Holden. Mrs. Parrow and her husband owned and operated a manufacturing company in Worcester for many years. She was very patriotic and loved her country, enlisting in the US Navy at the age of 19 and serving her country during WW II. Her family will remember her love of flowers and her ability to remember all of the family pets. She is survived by a son and his wife, William and Pam Brown of Arizona; her twin brother, Philip “Buddy” Mulcahy of Shrewsbury, two grandchildren, Megan Brown and William Brown; many nieces and nephews; and her two dear friends and neighbors, Ted and Joyce Cady. She was the sister of the late James Mulcahy and Sis Mulcahy. The funeral will be Friday at 8:30 AM from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI 02809.
