Catherine J. Gould, 74, of Slocum Road, Exeter, died Thursday at South County Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Norman L. Gould, Jr., they were married 55 years. Born in Narragansett, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Elena D (Lepore) Cook. Mrs. Gould enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made all types of clothing for her family and everyone she knew. She was an active member of the South County Church of Christ and she helped out with the church’s Youth Rally, as well as many other activities sponsored by the church. Besides her husband, she is survived by fours sons; Norman L. Gould, III of Exeter, James M. Gould and Jack E. Gould, both of North Kingstown, Scott G. Gould of Exeter; a sister Dorina Holland of Wakefield; a brother, Rodney Cook of California; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late James A. Cook. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday 5-7 PM. Funeral services and burial will be private.
