Catherine Susan Downey

Catherine S. Downey “Cathy”, 63, of South Kingstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Born in Warwick a daughter of the late Alfred L. and Catherine R. (Zaborski) Downey. Cathy was a school teacher for Chariho Public Schools. She is survived by her sisters, Donna M. Palmer of Naples, FL and Joan L. Murray of Pawtucket; two nieces, Kimberly Ferguson and Meghan Viveiros and three nephews, Jeffrey and Timothy Palmer and Colin Murray. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 8:45 am from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in St. Romauld Chapel, Atlantic Ave., Matunuck. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League Rhode Island, P.O. Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
