Catherine Champlin (Hoffma), 81, of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013. She was the beloved wife for 56 years of Robert E. Champlin, Sr.Born in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Rosamond (Levesque) Hoffma. Mrs. Champlin was a child technician at South County Hospital and previously worked at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in CT and Our Lady of Fatima Home in Lackawanna, NY. She was a volunteer at the Jonnycake Center; a former member of the Rosary and Altar Society at St. Thomas More Church; a volunteer for the Girl Scouts and was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Besides her husband she leaves her children, Robert E. Champlin, Jr. of Narragansett, Thomas M. Champlin of Warwick, Mary-Catherine Pitre of South China, ME and Timothy L. Champlin in Florida and six grandchildren, Theodore Champlin, Timothy Champlin, Stephany Champlin, Chelsea Champlin, Wayne Pitre and Travis Pitre. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd, Narragansett. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
