Carolyn W. Shilling

Carolyn W. Shilling (Whitmore), 88, of Kingston passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, at home. She was the wife of the late G. David Shilling. Born in Greenfield, MA, a daughter of the late Philip F. and Martha H. (Richardson) Whitmore. Carolyn was a YWCA Executive Director at Kansas State College. She received her Master’s degree from Union Theological Seminary; was an active member of the Kingston Congregational Church; Church Women United; The Coalition Against Racism and Ecumenical Healing Services. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Shilling and her companion Reinaldo Garrido of the Florida Keys and Ruth E. Shilling of Wakefield; a brother, William R. Whitmore of Sunderland, MA; a sister, Mary McClintock of Concord, MA and two cousins, Margaret Soukup of Jamestown and Virginia Richardson of Sunderland, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at 1:00 pm in the Kingston Congregational Church, 2610 Kingstown Road, Kingston, RI. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
