Carolyn Hand Collin, 73, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Flannigan) Hand.
Carolyn worked as a psychiatric nurse for over 35 years. She landed her dream job at The Carriage House at the Elms as Nurse Manager. Devoted to helping families with Alzheimer's and Dementia, Carolyn created a healthy and safe environment for families and staff. From organizing charitable events to making crafts with residents, she did it all.
Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved playing golf and watching football. Cheering on every Patriots touchdown!
She is survived by her son, Christopher Collin and his significant other Erica Harrington, a stepdaughter, Jennifer Cunniam, an adopted daughter Rachel Coons, grandchildren, Jaedin Collin, Matthew McGown Jr., Mya McGowan and her siblings Kathy Gilman, Mary Smith and Ted Hand. She was the mother of the late Kevin Collin.
Visitation for Carolyn will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 from 9:15 Am to 10:15 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Warwick.
