Carolyn M. Bradley

Carolyn Miller Bradley, age 88, of Peace Dale, R.I., passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Vernon H. Bradley for 60 years. Born in Manchester, CT, she was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Rena R. Miller. She attended Manchester High School where she was the student director of the A Capella choir for three years. She was an active Girl Scout for many years and a member of the Manchester Assembly for Rainbow Girls. Carolyn graduated from Cambridge Secretarial School in Hartford, CT. She worked as a secretary for the Darien YMCA in Darien, CT. When they moved to RI, she completed her career as a secretary working for ten years in the South Kingstown School Dept. She was an active member of Kingston Congregational Church for many years serving on several committees including the Women’s Fellowship, Visiting Committee, and the Flower Committee. Carolyn was the sister of the late Janice Miller Marks. She will be greatly missed by her brother William S. Miller of Norman, OK; her daughter, Susan Bradley Traver of Kingston, RI; her son, Stephen Bradley and his wife Karen of Chester, CT; six grandchildren, Kevin Traver and his wife Michele of Wareham, MA; Keith Traver and his wife Laura of Madison, CT; Emily Traver and Benjamin Gojman of Philadelphia, PA; LT. Sarah E. Bradley USCG of Barbers Point, HI; LTJG. Kristen R. Bradley USCG of Los Angeles/Long Beach, CA; and Scott A. Bradley of Baltimore, MD; as well as three great-grandchildren Lily, Shane, and Ariana Traver. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 383 Old North Road, Kingston, RI on Sat. July 5, 2014 at 12:00 PM.
