Carole Lamy

January 22, 1942 — January 4, 2024

Carole Lamy, 81, of West Kingston passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4th, while at home in the presence of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Frank Lamy, a retired commercial fisherman. They had been married for 62 years. Born in Holliston, MA, Carole was the daughter of Donald Bryden and Margaret Niles.

While raising a family, Carole co-owned and managed Champlin’s Fish Market in Galilee. She oversaw that successful business for nine years. For the next twenty years, she worked as a travel agent and personally enjoyed visiting places like Italy, Germany, and St. Thomas.

Carole was an avid decorative painter, a wonderful cook, a tremendous baker, and a terrific sewist. Being exceptionally talented, she was able to master any project she put her heart and mind to. Carole also loved to host holiday meals, and her home was the gathering place for her extended family. She also had a Jack Russell terrier named Percy that she dearly loved—to feed!

Carole will be deeply missed by her husband and her three children, son Francis (Cathy) Lamy Jr., daughter Lori (Dave) Wilkes, and daughter Kelly Lamy, along with grandsons Jaime Cafferty, Mason Wilkes, Haddon Wilkes, Aiden Bozsum, Nicholas Lamy and granddaughters Kristin (Andrew) Antares, Jennifer Lamy, Rachel Lamy, Shenne Bozsum, Grace Lamy, and great-granddaughter Adrianna Cafferty.

Carole is predeceased by her two sisters, Joan Carr of Wrentham, MA, and Theresa Hinton of Milford, MA, along with grandsons Adam Cafferty and Jack Bozsum.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
