Carol Anne Kenyon Ulmschneider of Wakefield, Rl passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 14, 2018. She was born in Wakefield to the late Charles C. and Esther (Lea) Kenyon. She was the beloved wife of Ronald W. Ulmschneider for 55 years. Carol was a graduate of South Kingstown High School and the University of Rhode Island where she received her BA in 1963 and her MLS in 1972. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Carol spent her childhood in Usquepaug, Rl and had many fond memories of growing up on the family farm. As a child, she enjoyed reading, rowing on the Queens River, and spending time with her dad down at Kenyons Grist Mill. She was a librarian for many years in the Narragansett School System before retiring. In addition, she was a librarian at the Clark Memorial Library and taught English in both Richmond and Chariho school districts. In her adult years, Carol enjoyed bicycling, walking her dogs, traveling, gardening and spending time at her house in Maine. She also enjoyed quality time with her family and dear friends. She was a past member of the South Kingstown Jr. Womens Club, Narragansett Teachers Association, Society of Mayflower Descendants, and various other committees at the Peace Dale Congregational Church and Peace Dale House. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Michael K. and Timothy A. of Wakefield, William P. and his wife Kendra of Saunderstown, four granddaughters and a great grandson. Also, a sister, Judith D. Healy of Wakefield, and a brother, Charles D. Kenyon and wife Christine of Richmond. She was predeceased by her siblings Norman B. Kenyon, Gilbert, Jack and Harry Hillman. Visiting hours are 4 to 7 on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11 am in the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia St, Peace Dale. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to South Kingstown Animal shelter or Animal Rescue league of Southern Rl.
