Carmelo Ortiz, Sr.

Carmelo Ortiz Sr. , 68, formally of South Kingstown passed away peacefully on Saturday July 7, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Son of the late Ernesto Ortiz Sr. and Petra Ortiz Martinez. Mr. Ortiz served in the US Army and was in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife Rose Ortiz; his former spouse Iris Borrero; their children Carmelo Ortiz, Jr. and his wife Beth, Leticia Ortiz, Ernesto Ortiz and his wife Dena, Tony Ortiz, and Natanael Bonilla; seventeen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; siblings Miguel Ortiz, Hector Ortiz, Ernesto Ortiz, Juanita Torres, William Ortiz, Erasmo Ortiz, Nelida Ortiz, Doris Ortiz, Francisco Ortiz;; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel Ortiz. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Saturday, 1 - 3 pm, followed a service with military honors at 3 pm. Burial will be private.
